How to Install BYD Door Sill Protectors: Step-by-Step Guide
Installing the Yirox BYD door sill protectors is simple and does not require drilling or permanent modification to your vehicle. Each piece is shaped for the corresponding door sill area and installs using pre-applied automotive adhesive.
Step 1: Clean the Surface
Thoroughly clean the door sill area to remove dust, oil, wax and moisture. Make sure the surface is completely dry before installation.
Step 2: Check the Position
Before removing the adhesive backing, place each protector on the corresponding door sill to confirm the correct position and alignment.
For 8-piece sets, identify the inner and outer sill pieces before installation.
Step 3: Remove the Adhesive Backing
Carefully peel off the protective film from the pre-applied adhesive tape.
For better adhesion in cold weather, gently warm the adhesive tape and installation surface before fitting.
Step 4: Align and Install
Position the protector carefully along the door sill. Once correctly aligned, place it onto the surface gradually rather than pressing the entire piece down at once.
Step 5: Press Firmly
Press firmly along the entire protector for approximately 30–60 seconds, paying extra attention to the edges and corners.
Step 6: Allow the Adhesive to Set
Avoid washing the vehicle or exposing the installed area to excessive water for approximately 24 hours after installation.
Installation Tips
- Test-fit every piece before removing the adhesive backing.
- Install on a clean, dry surface.
