MOQ, Samples & Trial Orders

Start small, confirm fit and finish, then scale.

What is the MOQ for automotive plastic parts?

MOQ depends on the product. Some items are available from an MOQ of 1 piece, which suits samples and fitment checks. Custom parts, private-label packaging and new-mold projects usually need higher quantities. Send us the part numbers or your project details and we will confirm the MOQ for each item.

Can I place a trial order before volume production?

Yes. Many buyers start with a small trial order to check fitment, finish and packaging in their own market before committing to volume. The trial quantity depends on the product’s MOQ. For custom parts, see how trials fit into the OEM development process.

Can I get a sample before bulk production? Is the sample fee refunded?

Yes. Samples are available for most existing products and for approved custom projects. A sample fee applies, and it can be credited against your bulk order once the order is signed. Sample timing is confirmed after we review the specification, because it depends on stock, finish and whether new tooling is needed.

Can I combine several SKUs or product lines in one order?

Yes. You can mix exterior styling parts, replacement body parts, pickup accessories and wheel covers in one order, as long as each item meets its own MOQ. Mixed orders are packed and labelled by SKU so your warehouse can receive them easily. Browse our product lines to build your list.

What should I send to get an accurate quotation?

Send the vehicle make, model and year; part numbers, photos, drawings or 3D files; material and finish; quantities per SKU; packaging needs; and your destination port or Incoterm. For custom parts, use the OEM quote checklist. Complete information lets us quote once instead of going back and forth.

02

Custom Development, Tooling & Molds

From a drawing or sample to a production-ready injection mold.

Can you develop a part from my 3D file, drawing, photo or sample?

Yes. We work from 3D CAD files (STEP/IGS), 2D drawings, reference photos or a physical sample. Our engineers review it for manufacturability before any tooling starts. The three starting routes are explained on our OEM and custom development page.

What is injection molding, and when is it used for car parts?

Injection molding melts plastic pellets such as ABS or PP and injects them into a steel mold under pressure, producing identical parts with consistent fit. It is the standard process for grilles, bumper trims, spoilers, lips and wheel covers at volume. Larger, lower-volume parts are sometimes formed instead; see how we choose the process.

How much does tooling cost, and what affects the price of molded parts?

If your customization needs a new mold, an additional tooling fee applies. Part size, geometry, number of cavities, slides, surface texture and expected volume all affect the mold cost. Unit price depends on material, finish, cycle time and order quantity. We quote tooling and unit price as separate lines so you can compare them clearly.

Who owns the mold?

Molds are made and kept in our factory and belong to Yirox. The tooling fee covers developing your customization. Keeping molds in-house means we maintain them, run repeat orders without transfer delays, and keep your parts consistent from batch to batch.

Is there a tooling fee if I only change the logo, color or packaging?

Usually not. Logo, color, finish and packaging changes on an existing product generally do not need a new mold. A new mold, and its tooling fee, is only needed when the shape of the part changes. See the private label questions for branding options.

How do you protect my drawings and designs?

We can sign an NDA before you share drawings or 3D files. Your files are used only for your project, and parts developed for your brand are not offered to other buyers under your branding.

Materials, Finishes & Fitment

Plastic choice, surface finish and vehicle fit decide whether a part sells.

What is the most common plastic used for automotive exterior parts?

Polypropylene (PP) and ABS are the most widely used. PP is tough and impact-resistant, so it is common for bumpers and trims. ABS gives a rigid, high-gloss surface for grilles, spoilers, lips and mirror covers. ASA is used where strong UV resistance is needed. See materials and finishes for details.

Which finishes are available, including chrome?

Common finishes include gloss black, matte black, carbon-fiber pattern, painted to color code, and textured. Chrome plating is available for grilles and wheel covers. All finishing is done in our own factory, so we control color and gloss consistency. Browse wheel covers and grilles and replacement body parts.

How do you confirm vehicle fitment?

We check each part against the vehicle make, model, year range and trim, using OE references, reference vehicles or approved samples. For new parts, a test fit is part of sample approval before mass production. Our OEM vs aftermarket guide explains what to check.

What vehicle information should I provide?

Give us the make, model, model year, market version (for example US, EU or LatAm spec), body style and trim, plus the OE part number if you have it. Photos of the installed part and its mounting points help us confirm details quickly.

What extra details do pickup truck accessories need?

For tonneau covers and running boards, tell us the bed length, cab type, whether there is a bed liner or rail system, and the model year. These details change the fitment and the hardware kit.

Product Range & Manufacturing

What we make in our own factory, and what we supply through our network.

Is Yirox a manufacturer, and where is the factory?

Yes. Yirox is an automotive exterior plastic parts manufacturer based in Wuxi, China, with 10+ years of experience and a factory of approximately 20,000 m². More on our About page.

Which manufacturing steps are done in-house?

All core steps are done in our own factory: mold development, injection molding, plastic forming and fabrication, CNC processing, surface finishing, painting, assembly and product inspection. This lets us control quality and lead time from tooling to packing.

Which exterior parts do you manufacture?

Five product lines: exterior styling parts (body kits, front lips, spoilers, side skirts, diffusers); replacement body parts (bumpers, grilles, trim); pickup accessories; EV aftermarket parts; and wheel and tire accessories (wheel covers, hubcaps and wheel balancing weights), for passenger cars, EVs and pickups.

Do you also make wheel balancing weights?

Yes. Wheel balancing weights, both clip-on and adhesive, are produced in Yirox’s own factory. See our wheel weights manufacturing page for types, materials and packaging.

Can you supply other auto parts, such as EV charging accessories or lighting?

Yes. EV charging products, lighting and other selected auto parts are supplied through our established automotive supply network, so you can consolidate them with your Yirox order. See sourcing solutions.

Can you evaluate a product that is not on the website?

Yes. Send photos, a drawing or the OE number. We will tell you whether we can develop it in our factory, source it through our network, or whether it is not a good fit.

Can Yirox recommend products for my market or sales channel?

Yes. Tell us your market, the vehicles that sell in it and your sales channel (retail, workshop, e-commerce or distribution). We recommend a starting range of SKUs from our five product lines and suggest trial quantities, so you can test demand before ordering larger volumes.

OEM, ODM & Private Label

Put your brand on parts made to your specification.

What is the difference between OEM, ODM and private label?

OEM: we make a part to your design or specification. ODM: we develop the design with you, using our engineering and tooling. Private label: we put your brand and packaging on one of our existing products. Read more on our OEM service page.

Can I put my brand on an existing Yirox product?

Yes. This is the fastest route to market, because the mold and fitment are already proven. You choose the logo, color or finish and the packaging, and no new tooling is needed in most cases.

Which logo and branding methods are available?

Options include a molded-in logo (this needs a mold insert), laser marking, pad or screen printing, labels and branded hardware bags. We confirm which methods work for each material and surface.

Can you make custom retail packaging and barcodes?

Yes. We produce branded color boxes, neutral export cartons, inserts, instruction sheets, and barcode or SKU labels to your retailer’s or marketplace’s requirements. Packaging artwork is approved before production.

06

Quality Control & Certifications

Inspection at every stage, backed by certified quality systems.

Which certifications does Yirox hold?

Yirox holds ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management certifications and REACH compliance certification. Other certifications held are listed on our Certifications & Compliance page. Copies are available on request.

How is quality controlled from first sample to shipment?

We check incoming materials, approve the first article against the sample or drawing, inspect during production (dimensions, finish, color and gloss), and run a final inspection before packing. The approved sample is the reference for every batch.

Which inspection records can I request?

You can request incoming material checks, first article reports, in-process and final inspection records, photos or video of your goods, and packing photos before shipment.

Can I arrange a third-party inspection before shipment?

Yes. Your own inspector or a third-party agency is welcome to inspect goods at our factory before the balance payment. Just give us notice so we can schedule it.

Can you provide test reports for my target market?

Yes, for the product and market concerned, such as material and REACH documentation. Tell us your destination market at the quote stage so the right documents are prepared. See certifications.

Orders, Lead Time & Payment

Clear steps and terms from inquiry to shipment.

What does the order process look like?

1) Inquiry and specification review. 2) Quotation. 3) Sample approval, if needed. 4) Proforma Invoice confirmation and 30% deposit. 5) Production and inspection. 6) 70% balance payment. 7) Shipment and documents.

What is the production lead time?

Bulk production lead time is 35–40 days after we receive the 30% deposit. Projects that need a new mold also need time for tooling and sample approval, and we confirm that schedule in the quotation.

Which payment terms do you accept?

Payment is by T/T (bank transfer): a 30% deposit after you confirm the Proforma Invoice, and the 70% balance before shipment. Prices are normally quoted in USD.

Do you issue a Proforma Invoice, and how do I verify bank details?

Yes. Every order starts with a Proforma Invoice that lists products, prices, Incoterm and bank details. Only pay to the bank account shown on the verified Proforma Invoice. If you receive an email about changed bank details, call us before you pay.

Can I change or cancel an order after confirmation?

Changes are possible before materials, printing, tooling or production have started. After that, changes may carry a cost or may not be possible. Please confirm the final specification before paying the deposit.

08

Shipping, Packaging & Incoterms

Packed for export and shipped on the terms you choose.

Which Incoterms do you offer?

We commonly quote EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP where available. Each quotation states the Incoterm, the named place and what costs are included.

How are large parts such as bumpers and body kits packed?

Large exterior parts are protected with foam supports, protective film on finished surfaces, and reinforced cartons sized to the part, then palletized for sea or air freight. Packing photos are available before shipment.

Which shipping methods are available?

Express courier for samples and small parts; air freight; and sea freight by LCL or FCL for bulk and oversized parts. We suggest a method based on volume, weight and deadline.

Can I use my own freight forwarder?

Yes. We deliver to your forwarder’s warehouse in China, or load the container at our factory, and share packing details in advance.

Which export documents do you provide?

Commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or air waybill as standard. A certificate of origin and other documents can be prepared depending on the product and destination.

Can goods ship in neutral packaging without Yirox branding?

Yes. Neutral packaging is available. Required product, safety and country-of-origin information is still included.

What warranty do you offer?

The warranty terms are confirmed per project and written into your order documents, depending on the product, finish and application. Ask us at the quotation stage.

What happens if parts arrive damaged or defective?

Keep the parts and the original cartons, and report the problem promptly after receiving the goods. Send us the order number, photos of the carton marks, shipping and batch labels, photos or video of the issue, and installation details. After we confirm the cause, solutions include replacement parts, remake, or credit on your next order.

Can new brands, smaller buyers or distributors work with Yirox?

Yes. Products with an MOQ of 1, trial orders and private label make it practical to start small. Distributors interested in a market should send us their market and channel.
