Buying Guide

How to Choose a Rear Bumper Diffuser

The rear bumper finishes the look of a car from behind. Wholesale buyers usually compare the part type, the material and finish, and how it fits each vehicle.

1. Pick the Part

Rear diffuser: a finned panel under the rear bumper that gives a motorsport look. It is the most popular rear bumper upgrade.

Rear bumper lip and corner splitters: smaller add-ons for the lower edge and corners, such as a LOCO-style rear lip for the Tesla Model Y.

Bumper guards: corner guards and steel guards protect the bumper on pickups and SUVs, like the guards for the BYD Shark 6.

Replacement rear bumper: aftermarket rear bumper covers and parts for collision repair, mainly for BYD and Denza models.

2. Choose the Material and Finish

Most rear diffusers are made from ABS or PP. ABS gives crisp fins, while PP is tougher against knocks.

A real carbon fiber diffuser, like our Audi A6 C7 part, is lighter and premium.

Steel bumper guards add strength for work vehicles.

3. Check Fitment and Exhaust

Model-specific diffusers follow the bumper and exhaust layout of one model, so check the model and year. Universal corner splitters fit many cars.

Check the exhaust layout: some diffusers have cut-outs for visible tips, and others are made for cars with hidden exhausts.

Installation

How to Install a Rear Diffuser

Rear diffusers usually use the factory mounting points. This is a general overview; follow the instructions supplied with the product.

  1. Check the fit around the exhaust. Hold the diffuser in place and confirm the gaps to the tips and the tow hook cover.
  2. Remove old trim if needed. Some models need the factory lower trim taken off before the diffuser goes on.
  3. Clip in first, then screw. Push the diffuser onto the factory clips, then add screws at the marked points.
  4. Keep heat clearance. Leave space around hot exhaust tips so the plastic is not damaged.
  5. Recheck after driving. Tighten the screws again after the first few days of use.

FAQ

Rear Bumper and Diffuser FAQ

What does a rear bumper diffuser do?

On race cars a diffuser helps manage airflow under the car. On most road cars a rear bumper diffuser is mainly a styling upgrade that makes the rear look lower and wider.

Will a diffuser fit with my exhaust?

Model-specific diffusers are made for the factory exhaust layout of each model. Check the product photos and fitment list for exhaust cut-outs before ordering.

Do you sell aftermarket rear bumpers?

Yes. We supply replacement rear bumper parts for BYD and Denza models, for collision repair and replacement programs.

What is a rear bumper lip?

A rear bumper lip is a slim add-on along the lower edge of the rear bumper. It is a simple upgrade, such as our LOCO-style lip for the Tesla Model Y.

Do you supply car grilles?

Front grilles, such as a Honda Civic Type R style grille and a BYD Dolphin mesh grille, are listed under Front Bumpers. Grille trims are also in Car Exterior Trim.

ABS, PP or carbon fiber: which material is best?

ABS gives crisp fins and is easy to paint. PP is more flexible and resists knocks. Carbon fiber is lighter and premium but costs more.

Do rear diffusers need drilling?

Most model-specific diffusers use the factory mounting points with clips and screws. Some need a few holes. Each product page lists the install method.

Can you make custom or private-label diffusers?

Yes. We support OEM and ODM projects, custom finishes and private-label packaging. Send us drawings or a sample to start.

Can I order rear diffusers in small quantities?

Low MOQ on selected items. Tell us the models and finishes and we will confirm the MOQ for each diffuser.

Do you ship rear bumpers internationally?

Yes. Diffusers and rear bumper parts ship to 40+ countries in export cartons sized for large parts.
