1. Durable Painted Finish
The wheel cover features a smooth painted surface with a clean and glossy appearance.
The finish is designed for everyday automotive use and is easy to wash and maintain. The contrasting multi-spoke design gives the BYD Seagull a more distinctive and premium-looking wheel appearance.
Key benefits
- Smooth surface finish
- Clean and glossy appearance
- Easy to wash
- Resistant to normal fading and surface peeling
- Helps refresh the appearance of the original wheel

2. Reinforced Steel Retaining Ring
Instead of relying only on plastic clips, the wheel cover uses a steel retaining ring around the rear of the cover.
The steel wire is heat-treated and blackened to provide better elasticity and resistance to deformation.
Compared with ordinary retaining wire that may lose its shape after repeated tension, the reinforced ring helps maintain consistent pressure against the wheel.
This provides:
- Stronger holding force
- Better resistance to deformation
- More stable installation
- Reduced risk of the wheel cover becoming loose
- Easier adjustment during installation
3. Adjustable U-Shaped Retaining Structure
The rear retaining ring uses an adjustable structure that allows the tension of the wheel cover to be fine-tuned.
This helps the clips maintain appropriate pressure against the wheel rim once installed.
A dedicated opening is also reserved for the tire valve stem.
When installing the wheel cover, simply align the opening in the retaining ring and wheel cover with the valve stem before pressing the cover into position.
4. Secure Snap-On Clip Design
Multiple retaining clips are positioned around the back of the wheel cover.
Once installed, these clips engage with the edge of the original wheel, while the steel retaining ring provides outward tension to help hold the cover securely in place.
The design provides:
- Close fit to the original wheel
- Even retaining force around the wheel
- Secure snap-in installation
- No drilling required
- No permanent modification to the vehicle
The wheel cover can also be removed when necessary for tire servicing or replacement.

Why Use a Wheel Cover on Your BYD Seagull?
The original steel wheel is practical, but some owners prefer a more distinctive exterior appearance.
A full wheel cover offers a simple upgrade without the cost and complexity of replacing the complete wheel.
It can help:
Improve the vehicle’s appearance
The multi-spoke design gives the car a more refined and customized look.
Cover the original steel wheel
The full-face design hides much of the exposed steel wheel surface.
Keep the wheel easier to maintain
The outer cover provides an additional surface between the wheel and everyday road dust and dirt.
Upgrade the look without changing wheels
Installation does not require replacing the tire or original steel wheel.
Return to the original appearance easily
The cover can be removed when required.
How to Confirm the Correct Size of your vehicle
Before ordering, check the tire size printed on the sidewall of your tire.
For example:
205/45 R17
means:
- 205 – Tire width in millimeters
- 45 – Tire aspect ratio
- R – Radial tire construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter in inches
For wheel cover selection, the wheel diameter, such as R15 / R16 / R17, is particularly important.
However, wheel diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility because the shape and structure of the original steel wheel can also differ.
Use the wheel-cover and hubcap buying guide to check the wheel edge, retaining clips, valve-stem opening, and replacement details before ordering.
For the BYD Seagull, please provide Yirox with:
- Vehicle model
- Model year
- Tire size
- Original wheel photo
Our sales team can help confirm the correct version before shipment.

How to Install the BYD Seagull Wheel Cover
Installation is straightforward and normally does not require removing the wheel.
Step 1 – Locate the Valve Stem Opening
Turn the wheel cover over and locate the recessed section/opening in the steel retaining ring.
Align this position with the tire valve stem on the vehicle.
This is important because the valve must remain accessible after installation.
Step 2 – Position the Wheel Cover
Place the wheel cover against the original wheel.
Align the clips around the wheel rim and gently press most of the clips into position.
Leave approximately one or two clips unsecured so that final alignment can still be adjusted.
Step 3 – Check the Retaining Ring
Make sure the steel retaining ring is sitting correctly behind the clips and has not moved out of position.
Check again that:
- The valve stem is correctly aligned
- The wheel cover is centered
- All clips line up with the wheel edge
Step 4 – Secure the Remaining Clips
Using a suitable wheel-cover installation tool or trim tool, carefully press the remaining clips downward and into the wheel rim.
Work gradually around the wheel instead of forcing one section into place.
Step 5 – Final Inspection
Once all clips are engaged, press around the entire circumference of the wheel cover by hand.
Confirm that:
- All clips are fully engaged
- The cover sits evenly against the wheel
- No section is visibly raised
- The valve stem remains accessible
- The wheel cover does not move or feel loose
The installation is then complete.
Installation Tips
Do not force the wheel cover into place if the clips are clearly misaligned. Remove it, check the retaining ring and reposition it before trying again.
For easier installation:
- Install on a clean wheel
- Align the valve stem first
- Press opposite sides gradually
- Avoid hitting the wheel cover with a metal hammer
- Use a plastic installation or trim tool where necessary
- Check that the retaining ring is seated correctly before installation
After installation, we recommend checking the wheel cover again after the first drive to make sure all clips remain properly seated.
