Thick 15g to 30g steel adhesive weights: what problem do they solve?
Heavier alloy wheels on vans, SUVs and light trucks regularly need 40g, 60g or more of correction. With ordinary 5g strips that becomes a long row of segments, slow to fit and more exposed to stone chips and pressure washers. Here each segment is a single 15g, 20g, 25g or 30g piece, and the 7 mm body keeps the footprint on the barrel short.
All four sizes are lead-free steel (Fe), zinc plated and packed the same way, so they are listed together. Stock the size that matches your typical work, or build a set covering the full 15g-30g range for a mixed fleet. Fleet and commercial vehicle workshops, distributors and private label ranges are the main buyers.
Which segment size do you need?
Pick the size closest to the correction step you see most. As a rough guide, 15g suits mid-size SUVs, while 25g-30g segments are better for vans and light trucks; with a mixed fleet, two sizes usually cover most jobs.
| Code | Segments per strip | Strip weight |
|---|---|---|
| 021 | 15g x 6 | 90g |
| 022 | 20g x 5 | 100g |
| 023 | 25g x 4 | 100g |
| 024 | 30g x 3 | 90g |
Heavier single segments are listed on our 50g steel weights page. If 10g steps suit you better, see the thick 10g x 10.
Choosing a tape for heavy weights
Heavy segments put more load on the adhesive, so the tape choice deserves thought:
| Tape | Typical use |
|---|---|
| General blue tape | Standard adhesive for everyday workshop balancing |
| Premium blue tape | Higher-grade blue adhesive for buyers who want a stronger everyday tape |
| Wide-edge blue tape | Liner extends past the strip so it can be peeled quickly, even with gloves |
| 3M tape | Branded 3M adhesive for customers who specify a named tape |
| Norton tape | Branded Norton adhesive as an alternative named tape |
| Red / white tape | Colour-coded liners for separating ranges or private label packs |
Tell our sales team your climate and rim types, and we will recommend one that fits heavy-duty use.

Balancing smaller cars or trucks as well?
For passenger cars, finer steps are more practical, so use 5g x 12 or 5g+10g x 4 strips. For truck wheels, the 50g and 100g weights are designed for much larger corrections.
Packing and shipping
Strips are packed 15 per bag and 4 bags per box, so every box holds 60 strips regardless of segment size, which keeps stock counting simple. Boxes go into export cartons, and different sizes can be mixed by box within one order.
Can we brand them for our fleet customers?
Yes. The factory supports minor, drawing-based and sample-based customization, including logo printing on boxes, private label packing, custom tape types and coating colours. Send your artwork and we will agree the details and lead time with you.

What buyers ask about thick heavy strips
How thick are the segments?
About 7 mm, which keeps even a 30g segment compact on the barrel.
Is there any lead in them?
No. They are zinc plated steel (Fe).
How do I make heavy segments hold on commercial wheels?
Commercial wheels are often dirty, so clean off brake dust, grease and old adhesive, let the spot dry, fit at room temperature and press firmly along the whole length.
Can I use them on small cars too?
They will work, but smaller 5g or 10g strips give finer steps and a neater result on passenger cars.
