Best 11 Easy Exterior Car Mods for Detailing & Tuning Shops

Not every customer who walks into a detailing or tuning shop wants a full body kit, a respray or a big aero package. Many simply want their car to look a little sharper, sportier or more personal, without drilling half the car or waiting a week for parts to be painted. That is exactly where easy exterior car mods come in: universal hood vents, side vents, gill trims, rear wings and bumper corner guards that fit a wide range of vehicles and go on in a single visit.

In this guide we look at 11 easy exterior car mods, starting with a new release, from the Yirox range, explain who each one suits, and share bundle ideas for shops plus practical guidance for DIY owners. All product details below come from the individual product pages, so you can click through for full specifications and photos.

Why Easy Exterior Mods Make Sense

For detailing and tuning shops

For a shop, universal styling parts are one of the simplest ways to add a new revenue line without new equipment or specialist training:

  • Quick installs: most of the parts below are stick-on, so fitting slots naturally into a detailing or ceramic coating appointment, when the paint is already clean and prepared.
  • Low cost per job: these are lightweight ABS, PP, TPU or PVC parts, easy to stock and easy to quote as a fixed-price add-on.
  • Universal fitment: one SKU covers many makes and models, so you are not tying up shelf space with model-specific stock.
  • Upsell potential: a customer who books a wash or polish can leave with a visibly different car, which is a strong reason to come back and to recommend you.

For DIY owners

For owners, the appeal is simple: a noticeable visual change with basic tools, no permanent body modification for stick-on parts, and finishes that suit most paint colours, from gloss black to carbon-fibre pattern.

Why Shops Should Stock Universal Small Exterior Mods

From a shop owner’s point of view, small universal exterior parts are one of the most practical product lines you can carry. Here is why they earn their place on the shelf:

  • Compact stock: vents, gill trims, emblem trims and corner guards are small and flat, so a useful range takes up very little shelf or storage space.
  • Low unit cost, low capital tied up: these are inexpensive plastic parts, so you can hold a varied range without locking a large amount of money into inventory.
  • One SKU, many cars: because they are universal, a single part suits many makes and models. You are not waiting for one specific car to walk in, so stock tends to turn over faster than model-specific parts.
  • Quick add-on service: stick-on parts install quickly, so they fit easily into an existing detailing, washing or coating appointment as an extra service rather than a separate booking.
  • Easy to bundle: matching finishes across a hood scoop, side vents and fender trims make natural packages, which helps raise the average spend per car.
  • Lower shipping cost and damage risk: small, lightweight parts are cheaper to ship and less prone to transit damage than large panels or full body kits, which makes restocking simpler.

11 Universal Exterior Parts Worth Stocking or Fitting

1. New Release: Universal Car Roof Dragon Horn Decoration (ABS)

Our newest release, the Universal Car Roof Dragon Horn Decoration, adds a bold, eye-catching styling touch to the car roof. Each horn is ABS, with a curved, slotted design. It comes in six finishes: machine-printed gloss black, painted black, silver, carbon-fibre black, red and carbon-fibre red. Each set comes in a compact box, which makes it easy to stock and display.

2. Stick-On Hood Vent Scoop (ABS)

The Universal Stick-On Car Hood Vent Scoop is a one-piece, injection-moulded ABS scoop. It fits most car bonnets, fixes with direct adhesive and comes in gloss black, carbon-fibre pattern or white. The white option is a nice choice for customers with white cars who want a subtle, colour-matched look rather than a contrast piece.

3. Large Bonnet Louvre Scoop (ABS)

For a bolder statement, the Universal Car Hood Vent Scoop, Stick-On Bonnet Louvre is a larger ABS piece suited to most cars and SUVs. It is fitted with double-sided tape and offered in gloss black, carbon-fibre pattern or matte black.

4. Louvered Hood Vent (ABS)

The Universal Louvered Hood Vent gives a lower, wider louvre look. It is ABS, stick-on, and available in matte black or carbon-fibre black, packed either in an OPP bag or a box, which is useful if you sell parts over the counter as well as fitting them.

5. Hood Side Vent Louvers (ABS)

If a full scoop is too much, the Universal Hood Side Vent Louvers are a more restrained option for most car bonnets. Each louver is ABS, finished in gloss black or carbon-fibre pattern. They pair well with a central scoop or look clean on their own.

6. Shark Gill Side Vents (ABS pair)

The Universal Shark Gill Side Vents are sold as a pair on a retail card and can be mounted on the hood or body panels. Installation is as simple as peeling off the backing and sticking them in place. Beyond gloss black and carbon-fibre pattern, they are offered in red, white, silver and blue, which makes them a fun accent piece for colour-coordinated builds.

7. Side Vent Trims (PP pair)

The Universal Car Side Vent Trims are made of PP and come with a roll of 3M adhesive tape. They suit the hood or body panels and are available in gloss black or a water-transfer printed carbon-fibre pattern.

8. Fender Blade Side Trims (TPU pair)

The Universal Fender Blade Side Trims are a slim, sporty accent for the front fender or body side. They are made of TPU and arrive with pre-applied adhesive plus a spare tape roll, in gloss black or carbon-fibre pattern.

9. Shark Gill Fender Trim (TPU)

For a more pronounced gill look on the fender, the Universal Shark Gill Fender Trim is a TPU piece with three open slats. It is stick-on and comes in gloss black or carbon-fibre pattern.

10. Arrow-Style Fender Side Emblem Trims (PVC pair)

The Universal Fender Side Emblem Trims are a sharp, arrow-style accent for the front fender or body side. The PVC pieces are sold as a pair, fit with adhesive and are offered in gloss black or carbon-fibre pattern.

11. Rear Wings: GT Wing and Saloon Wing

Rear wings are the most dramatic change on this list, and both of these bolt on via stands:

  • The Universal GT Wing Rear Spoiler is a large ABS GT-style wing with end plates and stands, suited to saloons and hatchbacks. It is offered unpainted, in gloss black or in carbon-fibre pattern, with optional aluminium alloy brackets.
  • The Universal Rear Wing Spoiler for Saloons is a lighter ABS wing on two stands for most saloon cars, available unpainted, in gloss black or carbon-fibre pattern, with a forged pattern made to order from 10 pieces.

Bonus: Rear Bumper Corner Guards (PP pair with screws)

To finish the rear end, the Universal Rear Bumper Corner Guards are PP winglets that fix with the 8 screws included. They come in gloss black, carbon-fibre pattern, matte black and versions with a red edge, and can also be used as side skirt extensions.

Bundle Ideas for Shops

Bundling is the easiest way to raise the average ticket while keeping the job simple. Here are a few combinations that work well together:

“Aggressive Front” bundle

A hood scoop (for example the louvered hood vent) plus a pair of shark gill side vents and a set of front bumper canards. If you prefer a matched set, the hood scoop and side vent set combines one scoop and two side vents in one order.

“Side Profile” bundle

Combine shark gill fender trims or fender blade trims with matching-finish hood side louvers. Keeping everything in one finish (all gloss black or all carbon-fibre pattern) makes the result look planned rather than piecemeal.

“Aggressive Rear” kit

Pair the GT wing with rear bumper corner guards or rear bumper corner splitters. This is a bigger job than the stick-on bundles, so it is best offered as a separately booked service.

“Detail + Style” add-on

Offer one small stick-on accessory, such as side emblem trims or side vents, as a fixed-price add-on to any full detail or coating package. The paint is already decontaminated, so the surface preparation is done. The new roof dragon horn decoration also works well here: it comes in six finishes, so it is easy to match to the trim or wheel colour.

DIY Guide: Tools, Time and Difficulty

Tools you will need

  • Isopropyl (cleaning) alcohol and clean microfibre cloths
  • Heat gun or hair dryer, to warm adhesive and parts in cool weather
  • Masking tape, to mark positions before committing
  • Measuring tape, to centre parts and keep left and right sides symmetrical
  • Screwdriver, and a drill for screw-on or bolt-on parts such as corner guards and rear wings

Stick-on parts (vents, gills, trims, scoops)

  1. Wash and dry the area, then wipe it with alcohol to remove wax and residue.
  2. Dry-fit the part and mark its position with masking tape. Measure from fixed reference points so both sides match.
  3. If it is cold, gently warm the panel and the adhesive with a heat gun or hair dryer.
  4. Peel the backing, place the part carefully and press firmly along the full length.
  5. Avoid washing the car for a while to let the adhesive bond fully.

As general guidance: stick-on parts are typically a beginner-level job and usually take under an hour, most of it spent on cleaning and positioning.

Screw-on and bolt-on parts (corner guards, rear wings)

Corner guards fix with the supplied screws, and both rear wings mount via stands with hardware. These parts generally involve marking and drilling, so they are better rated as intermediate jobs and often take a few hours, depending on the car and your experience. If you are not comfortable drilling into a boot lid or bumper, a local tuning shop is the safer choice.

Choosing the Right Finish

Most parts in this list come in gloss black and carbon-fibre pattern (a printed pattern, not real carbon fibre). Gloss black suits cars with black trim, window surrounds or wheels. Carbon-fibre pattern adds texture and a motorsport feel. Some parts add matte black, white or bright colours, and the two rear wings are also available unpainted for colour matching in a paint shop.

FAQ

Do stick-on hood vents and side vents actually let air through?

No. The vents, scoops and gill trims in this guide are decorative styling parts and are not functional air vents. They change the look of the car without cutting into the bodywork.

Will these parts fit my car?

They are universal parts designed for most cars, but always check the size against your panel first. For example, the hood scoop and side vent set is not suited to uneven or highly curved bonnets. Dry-fitting with masking tape before peeling the backing is the easiest check.

Can stick-on parts be removed later?

Stick-on parts can generally be removed by warming the adhesive and working it off slowly, then cleaning up residue. Screw-on and bolt-on parts such as corner guards and rear wings leave mounting holes, so treat them as a longer-term choice.

Is carbon-fibre pattern real carbon fibre?

No. The carbon-fibre pattern finishes on these parts are printed or water-transfer patterns on ABS, PP, TPU or PVC. They give the look of carbon at a much lower cost.

Can I order a mix of products for my shop?

Yes. Shops often combine several parts and finishes in one order. Contact us with your list and we will advise on MOQ and wholesale options.
