Wide tape 5g+10g x 4 grey weights: what are they?
This is a lead-free steel (Fe) stick-on weight for the inner barrel of alloy rims on passenger cars and light trucks, with four 5g and four 10g rectangular segments on a 60g strip. Its wide-edge tape extends about 2 mm beyond the wide side of the strip, giving technicians a tab to grip so the backing comes away quickly, even in gloves. Zinc plating under a grey coat resists corrosion and blends with silver and grey alloys.
It suits high-volume tyre shops, quick-fit chains, seasonal tyre change operations and distributors who want to cut handling time on every wheel without switching to a roll dispenser.
How does a wide tape edge save time?

Choosing between this and similar weights
Standard tape is cut flush with the strip; wide-edge tape adds a peel tab. If your technicians are happy with flush tape, or you want more tape colours, see our grey coated 5g+10g x 4 strip. For dark rims see the black 5g+10g weights, and for a plain metal look the zinc plated 5g+10g weights.
For heavier corrections, the 10g strips are a natural step up, and very high-volume bays may prefer a 5g roll. For steel rims, clip-on weights are the usual answer.
