Case Study: Rear Spoiler for a Flagship EV Program

Case A · Aftermarket brand program

High-gloss exterior spoiler for a flagship EV program — holding ±0.1 mm seam gap in series production.

The challenge

A BYD Yangwang U7 rear spoiler: a large, highly visible part that sits tight against the body, so any seam or flow mark shows. The customer did not want a good lab result. They wanted batch 1 and batch 50 to be the same part.

What we did

  • Two-platen press with platen positioning within 0.5 mm
  • Mold-flow analysis moved the gate so the weld line was moved out of the cosmetic surface
  • Zoned mold temperature control for even gloss along the part
  • Part weight held to ±1 g with variation of 0.3% or less, monitored in process
  • FAI, patrol inspection and records kept for every batch
±1 mmOverall, critical ±0.5 mm

NoneFlow marks or weld lines on the cosmetic surface; paint adhesion unaffected

What Buyers Say

“What I value most is being able to get a straight answer. If a drawing needs changing, they explain why. If a product needs another check, they say so. We work with plenty of suppliers, and that kind of communication makes Yirox much easier to deal with.”
Senior Procurement ManagerAutomotive Aftermarket Supply
“We started with one spoiler mould to test them. They flagged a weld line position in our drawing before quoting, which our previous supplier had missed. Three containers later, they are still quoting the same lead time they actually hold. Not the cheapest quote we received — the only one we stopped re-checking.”

How to Choose the Right Program

Pick the program by how you sell, not by the product. The same factory makes the parts; what changes is how we quote, pack, label and ship them for you.

What to send for a first quote

Whichever program fits, the first quote moves fastest when we receive the same five things:

  • Your product list. Part names or links, with the vehicles each part fits.
  • Drawings, samples or photos. A 3D file is best; an original part or clear photos also work, and we can 3D scan a sample.
  • Finish. Molded-in color, primed, painted, piano black, carbon look or chrome.
  • Quantities. Target quantity per item and how often you reorder.
  • Packing and market. Your brand and labels, sales channel and destination port.

We reply with the recommended program, the questions that still need an answer and a quote. If you sell through more than one channel, tell us; many buyers combine programs, for example a brand range that also ships to Amazon.

One Factory Behind Every Solution

Our exterior parts, wheel balancing weights, tonneau covers and running boards are made in our own factory, from molding and painting to chrome plating, inspection and packing. The only exception is a group of EV products sourced from partner factories that we manage, explained on the EV distributor page.
