Pain Points of Aftermarket Brands

A brand carries the risk when a part looks wrong on the car. These are the problems brand teams bring to us.

Fit that varies

Parts that fit the sample but not the car, or not the next batch.

Color drift between batches

The first article passes, then later batches drift and parts no longer match side by side.

Design and mold risk

Drawings shared with a factory, and no clear terms on who owns the mold.

Key facts for aftermarket brands

  • You receive a DFM report before tooling starts.
  • Your designs and colors, held batch to batch.
  • Two paint lines with a 3C2B system; painted color held to ΔE*ab ≤1.0.
  • Mold making, 3D scanning and CNC machining in the same factory.
  • Two CMMs in-house, with PPAP up to Level 3.
  • Made in our IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified factory of about 20,000 m² in Wuxi, China.

Brand ranges often add parts with a clear layer or a soft edge, made in one cycle as two-shot molded parts.

How We Solve Them

Fit is developed from your drawing, a 3D scan or the vehicle and checked on fixtures and CMM. Color is locked with a signed plaque and spectrophotometer readings. We sign an NDA before reviewing drawings, and mold ownership is agreed in writing in your quote.

Molding

42 machines from 90 to 2,500 t, including three two-shot machines. See injection molding.

Painting

Two 3C2B paint lines with measured color, gloss and film thickness. See painting.

Chrome

An automatic 28-tank rack plating line. See chrome plating.

Inspection

Two CMMs, FAI and PPAP up to Level 3. See quality inspection.

Range and Terms for Brand Programs

Brand programs usually start from one part or one model and grow into a line. Like other OEM and ODM suppliers, we develop exterior and accessory parts from your drawing, sample or concept. Where we differ is how far terms can bend for a new program.

TermHow we handle it
Product rangeSpoilers, bumpers, diffusers, side skirts, grilles, trims, mirror covers, wheel covers, truck accessories and wheel weights made in our own factory
Mold ownershipStated in the quote
MOQDiscussed per project; can be relaxed for a first run while a line is being proven
BrandingLogo, labels, manuals and packaging developed with the program
Lead time and shippingConfirmed in the quotation; region and shipping route affect terms and are discussed per project

Send your product list, vehicle applications, target market and estimated quantities, and we reply with a quotation within one business day.

Case Study: BYD Yangwang U7 Rear Spoiler

Case A · Aftermarket brand program

High-gloss exterior spoiler for a flagship EV program — holding ±0.1 mm seam gap in series production.

The challenge

A BYD Yangwang U7 rear spoiler: a large, highly visible part that sits tight against the body, so any seam or flow mark shows. The customer did not want a good lab result. They wanted batch 1 and batch 50 to be the same part.

What we did

  • Two-platen press with platen positioning within 0.5 mm
  • Mold-flow analysis moved the gate so the weld line was moved out of the cosmetic surface
  • Zoned mold temperature control for even gloss along the part
  • Part weight held to ±1 g with variation of 0.3% or less, monitored in process
  • FAI, patrol inspection and records kept for every batch

Case Study: Body-Color PC/ABS Trim

Case B · EU tier-1 program

Color consistency across paint batches — ΔE held under 1.0 on a body-color PC/ABS trim program.

The challenge

The first article passed, then the color drifted. Parts from two batches looked different side by side on the same car, which is the failure a tier-1 customer cannot accept.

What we did

  • A signed color plaque plus spectrophotometer readings as a double lock
  • Resin and colorant lots locked; any change triggers re-approval
  • 3C2B paint system with inline film thickness checks
  • A color plaque kept for each batch and the ΔE reading attached to the shipping documents

What Brand Teams Say

“We sent a scan and a photo of the original part, not a drawing. They came back with the questions that mattered — draft angle on two ribs, and which surface we could not touch.”
Project Engineer
“We wanted something a little different from the standard aftermarket parts everyone was selling. They helped us work through the details without losing the original look. The whole development process felt much more collaborative than a typical sourcing order.”
