What is a 5g+10g x 4 grey adhesive wheel weight?
It is a lead-free steel (Fe) stick-on weight for the inner barrel of alloy rims on passenger cars and light trucks, mixing two segment sizes on one strip: four 5g and four 10g segments, 60g in total. Technicians cover typical corrections with fewer pieces than an all-5g strip, yet keep 5g steps for fine-tuning. Zinc plating under a grey coating helps resist moisture and road salt and blends with silver, grey and gunmetal rims.
It comes in a rectangular and a rounded corner version with the same weight pattern, finish, tape choices and packing, so both are listed here; just tell us which shape you stock.
Why do bays prefer mixed 5g and 10g segments?
Larger wheels often need bigger corrections, and building them entirely from 5g pieces means more handling and a longer weight on the rim. Mixing sizes shortens the job without losing accuracy: 10g segments cover larger imbalances in one piece, while 5g segments fine-tune.
For a bare metal look, see our zinc plated 5g+10g x 4 steel weights. For an easy-peel edge, compare the grey wide-tape 5g x 12 weights.
Square or rounded corners?
The weight and performance are the same; choose by appearance and what your customers are used to.
| Shape | Description |
|---|---|
| Rectangular | Square-cornered segments marked Fe5 and Fe10; a classic, low-profile strip |
| Rounded corner | Segments with rounded (fillet) corners for a softer edge appearance on the rim |
Which tape is right for your market?
All five tapes are available on both shapes:
| Tape type | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Blue tape | Standard general-purpose adhesive tape for everyday workshop balancing |
| 3M tape | Branded 3M adhesive for buyers whose customers ask for a recognised named tape |
| Norton tape | Branded Norton adhesive as an alternative named tape |
| Red tape | Colour-coded liner to separate product lines on the shelf |
| White tape | Colour-coded liner for private label ranges or a clean retail look |
Tell our sales team your climate and the rim types you see most, and we will recommend a suitable tape.

Is the 5g+10g strip the best fit for you?
Choose 5g+10g if your bay balances many larger wheels. If most work is smaller passenger car wheels and you prefer even 5g steps, the grey coated 5g x 12 strip may suit you better. For dark rims choose the black 5g+10g weights; for a plain metallic look, the zinc plated 5g+10g weights.
For heavier corrections see the 10g steel strips, and for very fine adjustment the 2.5g x 12 strip. Steel rims are usually balanced with clip-on weights rather than adhesive ones.

Your questions about 5g+10g grey weights
Is there any lead in these weights?
No. They are steel (Fe) with zinc plating and a grey coating.
How do the rectangular and rounded versions differ?
Only in the corner shape of the segments. Weight pattern, finish, tape and packing are identical, so choose on appearance or customer preference.
How do I make sure the weight stays on?
Clean and dry the marked spot on the inner barrel, fit at room temperature, and press firmly along the whole length after peeling the liner.
Can the boxes carry our brand?
Yes, logo printing and private label packing are available on request.
